Viking Plastics fabricates an extensive range of trade waste tanks suitable for most types of trade waste.

Trade waste is defined as any waste water, used during business activities, that will be discharged into the sewer system. Trade waste often has other substances in it like grease and fats, solids or chemicals.

Trade waste is most often created by the following types of businesses:

  • food preparation
  • automotive
  • laboratory
  • hairdresser
  • art studio
  • laundry
  • industrial and/or manufacturing.

The trade waste needs to pass through a trade waste tank so contaminants can be collected.  A trade waste tank prevents contaminants from being discharged into the sewer system where they can cause blockages, burst pipes and smelly overflows in the system.

Periodically, as the contaminants accumulate in the tank, your trade waste tank will need to be pumped out and cleaned by a licensed trade waste collection contractor.

To discharge trade waste, you need to have a trade waste agreement with your local water authority. To find your local water authority, click here.
