What is a Pump Tank?

Pump Tank:

A pump tank is required where waste water needs to be pumped to sewer or to an elevated level.  Pump tanks may include features such as quick-release camlock connectors, non-return valves, high-level alarms and a pre-wired control station junction box. Pipe arrangement and pump selection are made according to the particular application or duty specified.

Common applications for pump tanks include:

  • a restaurant’s trade waste tank (grease trap) is located below the level of the sewer;
  • an automotive workshop that has an above ground petrol and oil interceptor and the contaminated waste water needs to be pumped up to it.

Viking Plastics supply pump tanks suitable for above ground or below ground installations.  They are fitted with inlet, outlet and vent plain pipe nozzles.  All pipe fittings are fully welded for superior seals.  The use of circular, quick release, air-tight, access cover provides easy access for tank cleaning.
